SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. Your design must be an A3 sized document, and include the following:
- Front view and one other view in colour sketch
- Product and design description
- A technical drawing with scaled measurement
- Present the material swatch(es) and colour story
2. NO participant/ company/ institute name should appear on your drawing or else your submission will be disqualified.
SUBMISSION FORMAT
All submissions must STRICTLY follow the layout required by the organisers to be qualified. Unqualified entries will not be assessed by the company.

Theme: The Modern Hijab
Design and create an innovative activewear hijab for the young and trendy hijabis.
The final product needs to be aligned with Voilee’s design philosophies of Form, Features & Function.
Design Direction:
- Form – Aesthetically appealing design that are chic, trendy and fit for purpose. Creating beauty through sensible screening while allowing the natural form to be articulated.
- Features – Innovative design with unique features that can enable better convenience, comfort and wearability.
- Function – The design must provide maximum comfort during sports or outdoor activities while minimizing impediments to any body movement.
- Fabric – Fabric for consideration should be comfortable and luxurious to the touch. Suitable for warm outdoor conditions with features that can dissipate perspiration and body heat effectively.
Suggestion:
Break the convention that have navigated traditional hijab designs. Discover new materials, structures and innovations for your design. Think about the needs of modern hijabis with active and busy lifestyle. Understand Voilee’s brand philosophies.
- Participants are welcome to submit more than 1 design.
- The same design is not allowed to be submitted more than once.
- Voilee will choose the top 3 entries from all the submissions. The 3 finalists will be provided with SGD 150 to develop the prototype and presentation kit for Final Judging.

Finalists Guidelines
Announcement
The 3 finalists will be announced on the 5th of January 2024 and will be given SGD 150 cash each to develop their hijab prototype.
Design Prototype Kit
The finalists are required to create a Design Prototype Kit by the closing date of 1st March 2024 for final Judging.
The Kit includes:
- A physical prototype of their hijab design
- A presentation to explain their inspiration and process in creating the hijab
- A 60s video introduction to showcase the innovations of their hijab design
Final Judging Criteria
Creativity: 30%
Originality: 30%
Trend: 30%
Marketability: 10%
Final Judging
- The 3 finalists will attend the interview in person to explain their design concept in English
- The Judging Panel will interact and have Q&A sessions to know more about each finalist’s design
- The Overall Winner will be chosen from one of the 3 finalist
Development Opportunities
- Internship opportunities may be offered to the finalists to further develop and market their designs
- Finalists may be invited to become ambassadors to the line of their hijab designs
